I've led an adventurous life. Started acting professionally at the age of 9; was on radio & TV in the States. Went to Goodman Theatre School in Chicago, had a break down and was sent to Scotland, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

Played and sang trad Scots music in pubs where i met my first husband Phil; he left me for two women after our daughter was born  so I got a job as a life model to support us.

Moved to Leicester where I met my second husband, Robert , started writing and taking valium; as hubbie got more (verbally) abusive got hooked on sleepers and DF 118s.

Got into therapy and realised that hubby was a killer so left him; daughter was 17 and moving in with boyfriend. While kicking the valium (bad, bad days and nights) got into yoga and meditation and started writing again

Sold an  article to 'The Guardian'  then another and started a new career of journalism. Wrote for women's mags, did some radio and TV; had my 15 minutes.

Started to get sick five years ago; breathless, tired, coughing. It was misdiagnosed as asthma until I had a crisis and couldn't breathe. Drs. found a heart murmmer that had become troublesome in old age. Had two more episodes and now they are  going to operate, a valve repair.

During this, I set up and ran The Domes http://www.dome2.com  and http://www.dome2.com/teenscene plus a literary food mag http://www.dome2.com/madelaine

I don't know what will happen next…want to write some plays…something completely different.
